Regal Security & Fire Management Services Ptd Ltd was founded in 1984 by Mr AAA who served as the sole proprietor. After the death of the Founder, Mr BBB took over the leadership of the Firm as its Director. BBB was in charge of the Company’s affairs until June 17, 2003 when it was registered as a ‘Private Limited’ and it was officially christened “REGAL SECURITY & FIRE MANAGEMENT SERVICES Ptd Ltd”
The Firm had a humble beginning; it began with very few sites. It grew monumentally from 4 stations to the current 33 sites that are under its watch. In terms of workforce too, Regal Security & Fire Management Services Ptd Ltd has witnessed growth in quantum leaps—the Firm kicked off with just 6 security officers and now boasts of over 100 officers with the hope of surpassing the number soon. The Management of this Company pays detailed attention to all-round growth of the Firm. They are systemic in decision making, excellent in implementation and committed in scaling through challenges.
In the same vein, the security officers under the payroll of the Firm are hardworking, committed and efficient in their service delivery. They are passionate about their job and do not drop the ball unnecessarily. The feedbacks from clients about our officers are inspiring and encouraging. They carry out their duty with high sense of professionalism and diligence. They are focused on delivering every assignment as specified by the client. They are the greatest asset of the Company. This is why we have an unrivalled welfare package which has kept most of them with us for years.
Furthermore, the directors, managers and operation officers work round the clock to ensure that there are no lapses at any given point. Those in the top echelon are men and women with foresight who normally come up with policies that differentiate this Company from others. Each member of the management team knows what is expected of them. Apart from provision of security services for people and organizations, Regal Security & Fire Management Services Ptd Ltd is also renowned for training and retraining of officers. We are group of people that believe in professionalism and doing things in modern way. As we learn new methods of doing things, we also pass the knowledge to all officers under us. A well-trained officer will carry out their job efficiently. When people are armed with the weaponry of knowledge, they can swim through the tides of their profession with little help from others. We also retrain officers to keep updated of the changes in the industry and code of conduct in carrying out their duties.
As a Firm that is very particular about obeying all the laid down rules and regulations by the various regulatory agencies, the Directors of Regal Security & Fire Management ensure that all the organizational activities are PLRD complainant. There are practical steps outlined by the Directors to ensure the realization of this. Below is a brief analysis of how the Company implements the PLRD requirements:
- The first and most important step is to ensure that every intending security officer meets the stipulations of Police licencing for Security Officers. Before anyone can be issued security officer licence, he or she must be a citizen of Singapore or must have the permission to work in the country. In addition, the person must be fit and proper; they should not have a criminal record. To fulfil this requirement, Regal Security and Fire Management normally carry out a background check of every applicant. They are also asked very critical questions in interview to unravel pieces of information of the applicant that might be hidden from the public. This is to ensure that criminally-minded people are not given employment in the Firm which is a clear violation of the PLRD requirement.
- As stated under the Private Security Industry Act (PSIA), that to become a security officer or hold any other designation employed to carry out security related functions by an employer in Singapore, a person must undergo training and be certified ‘competent’ while applying for their private security license. Regal Security ensures that all successful applicants are properly trained and perform satisfactorily before applying for the licence.
- Also, in line with the recommendation of the PLRD that specialised training should be made compulsory for officers, Regal Security & Fire Management has ensured that all the three compulsory courses—WSQ Conduct Security Screening of Person and Bag, and WSQ Handle Counter-Terrorism Activities—are made mandatory for our officers according to their area of specialization.
- PWM: The Progressive Wage Model is another condition stipulated by the PLRD that must be met before a security agency’s licence can be renewed. Being an Organization that prioritizes the welfare of her workers, implementing this requirement has been somewhat easy for Regal Security. First, officers are equipped with all the necessary skills needed to effectively dispense their duties. Then, each officer is paid wage that corresponds to their skill level, using the table provided by the PLRD. Since 2016, Regal Security & Fire Management has never fallen short of the standard.
- HR COMPLIANCE PROCESS: Effective from September 1, 2016, Regal Security & Fire Management has embarked on the mission to induct our newly recruited officers in compliance with the PWM mandatory licensing condition so to produce better, competent and ready-to-serve security officers. Being a Firm committed to operations sustainability, we are always willing to train and retrain our officers when the need arises so as to make them competently deliver on the jobs committed to their hands.
- Through careful planning and strategic implementation processes, we have been fulfilling all the requirements put in place by the PLRD and other agencies. No doubt, this has helped our Organization reach this enviable height.
